Arising from the minutes

Raffle Tickets. Miss Ross stated that none of the outstanding tickets had been returned + therefore the raffle had not taken place, agreed that Miss Ross liaise w/ all persons in possession of tickets + Cox to get in touch with Silva and Burke

John Grieson’s […] Miss Ross reported that she had written to Mr Grierson but had received no reply yet.

Letter to newspaper regarding Sanders Temple Day? Letters have been written but apparently there had been no results. Miss Seruya stated that all letters and reasons should be kept on a special file by the Publicity Secretary.

British Agent Leaflet Mr Seruya reported that there were no developments. To report back next meeting

Film Show

Mr Seruya reported that 25/9 had been taken in payments, […] had been £1.0.1 Profit £5.

2/7 profit had been made on […]

6 new members had been enrolled + 2 contacts been made, new members included 3 trade union members + one professional photographer

                        Mr Jackson stated that the shows had been very successful + it had shown

1) the League should not be afraid to run shows of this calibre even though we were not in possession of premises

2) A definite chairman should be elected + that the line + content of the lecture should be previously discussed + agreed upon by the committee.

Week End School

            Agreed that a one day school be held on July 7th at Studio Theatre unreadable?

Miss Ross moved the S. Seruya + I Seruya be (6) appointed as a sub committee for the running of the school, seconded Mr Cox agreed

Premises Miss Ross reported that the esate agent had been interviewed + that he had agreed to approach the landlord regarding the repairs required.

Daily Worker Film

Mrs Ross reported that “daily worker”” agreed to the proposition of having a camera-man + scenario writer loaned to them + that we were now awaiting a report from the paper.

Correspondence

Mrs Ross read a letter from Meschropom Film Moscow asking for suggestions for films of an International outlook, the authors of themes accepted will have a ?[…]together with a sum allowing for a study trip in USSR.

Agreed that the letter be translated + that a copy of the letter with a covering letter be sent to various newspapers and journals. film scre?

            A letter was read from Marshall suggesting the exchange of our films with short films made in the USSR.

            Suggested that “Transport” + UAB film be exchangeable subjects+ it was agreed that the negatives be sent for preparation.

Mr Jackson’s Report

                                    Mr Jackson read a letter from the Y.C.L suggesting a film of the youth movement. Agreed that Miss Ross, Mr Jackson + Mr Seruya visit the Y.C.L. + report back next meeting

                                                Report that film had been suggested of […] Welfare, a fuller report to be given next meeting.

Jubilee Film Reported that the material taken was not sufficient with which to make a film of the Jubilee Mr Jackson reported that the material be used as the basis of an anti-war film. Seconded Mr Pizer Agreed

Regarding the suggestion of a film of the Co-op movement – Mr Cox stated he would give a report next meeting

Feature Film Mr Cox reported that the film was almost finished + it was agreed the film be shown to the committee Monday June 3rd 7.30 at 84 Grays Inn Road

Still Group

Mr Duncan reported that the exhibition was ready except for 3 boards to be used for foreign material. no place had been needed yet in which to hold the exhibition
